Now that we have closed the books on 2025, I’ve been reflecting on
what the year has brought and what I have been able to make of it.
Naturally, most of my efforts have been directed toward building Pyne
Properties and I am pleased to share that this has been our best year
yet. Actually, it’s far and away our best year with nearly a 200
per cent growth in dollar volume and closed deals when compared to
2024. We were involved in some unforgettable projects ranging from a
mixed-use commercial building in Oak Park early in the year to a 19th
century mansion in Evanston and a number of other interesting
properties and clients we have represented all over greater
Chicagoland. I am humbled and grateful for everything that Jon, Poppy
and I have been able to accomplish, especially in this tough market.
There’s one project that has been in the back of my mind for some
time that in some ways encapsulates 2025 professionally. Framed in
the cheesy real estate closing photo below are some clients I helped
to purchase a home in Homewood, Il this past April. Starting in the
late summer of 2024, we embarked on a journey of visits to
Homewood/Flossmoor just about every weekend for nearly 6 months.
Along the way, we entered into bidding wars, dodged misrepresented,
messed-up and often overpriced homes. We even had a deal fall apart
due to the seller canceling, which was at the time kind of soul
crushing for all of us. In short, we were on an odyssey which not
only made our resolve to get to the finish line stronger, but also
strengthened our bond. It’s as if I was part of their family for a
time. We will always have this shared history together and I will
never forget the role I played in this part of their lives.
